16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary shoots for gold with record score!

A 16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary scripted history on the Asian stage on when he defeated series of multiple World and Olympic champions in the category of 10m air pistol finals at the Asian Games in Jakarta.
The teenager clinched Gold in the Men’s 10 meter Air Pistol event. His road to the medal is impressive as he topped the qualification round and his final score read 240.7 which is an Asian Games record.  Like Manu Bhaker and Anish Bhanwala , Chaudhary won gold on his debut appearance. Finishing at the top of the podium at an event as big as Asiad is a commendable feat considering the fact that he picked up the sport just three years back. He apparently has learned the tricks of the trade at Amit Sheoran’s academy at Binauli near Baghpat, 53 kilometers from Meerut. And, whenever he is home, he helps his father in the farming business.
India pistol coach Pavel Smirnov said the gold for Chaudhary was a pointer to the country’s potential in the sport.
“I was just focusing on my shot and didn’t try to do anything different. I did not feel any pressure at all,” said Chaudhary, who was equally good in the qualification with a score of 586.
Saurabh Chaudhary has truly won millions of hearts. Congratulations to this young boy on his big win.
