About Ragala Venkat Rahul
Rahul comes from the Guntur district of Andra Pradesh. Ragala hails from Stuartpuram, a small town in Andhra Pradesh. It was his father Madhu Ragala, a former kabaddi player and weightlifter, who initiated him in the sport at a very early age so that he didn’t face any trouble. Rahul was inspired to take up weightlifting primarily because of Karnam Malleswari (Retired Weightlifter) who became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal when she won the bronze at the 2000 Sydney Games. Malleswari was born in a small village Voosavanipeta in Andhra Pradesh. Rahul was trained for weightlifting at the Telangana Sports School.
Congratulations Ragala Venkat Rahul! India is immensely proud of your accomplishment.
