Navjot Kaur clinches India’s first gold in Asian Wrestling Championship

Navjot Kaur has created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win gold at the Senior Asian Wrestling Championships. Navjot defeated Miya Imai of Japan in the final to win the 65Kg title in Kyrgyzstan.
Navjot beat Japan’s Miya Imai 9-1 in a one-sided final game of the women’s 65kg freestyle category to clinch gold. Earlier in the day, India got another medal through Rio Olympics bronze medalist Sakshi Malik who won the bronze in the 62kg freestyle category after conquering Kazakhstan’s  Ayaulym Kassymova 10-7 in a tough fight.
The two medals now took India’s overall tally to six, which consisted gold, a silver, and four bronze medals.
